2. Remove the engine protective pan.
3. Remove the air filter housing with the air intake duct.
4. Remove the windshield wipers and the upper hood cover.
5. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) module assembly.
6. Remove the turbocharger assembly.
7. Loosen the exhaust manifold mounting nuts from the edges to the middle and remove the exhaust manifold from the engine.
Caution: Be careful not to deform the turbocharger pipes when removing the exhaust manifold.
8. Clean the contact surfaces of the exhaust manifold and cylinder head.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Use a new gasket.
Note: Tighten the exhaust manifold mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration to 26.0 Nm.
Post-installation check
Start the engine and run it at high speed to check for exhaust leaks.
