Attention. Perform this step only on a cold engine.
2. Remove the catalytic converter.
3. Remove the turbocharger.
4. Remove the air filter housing.
5. Remove the rear EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold.
6. Unscrew the fixing nuts from the edges to the center and remove the exhaust manifold with spacers.
7. Remove gasket.
Attention. Seal openings in motor to prevent foreign material from entering inside.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Install the gasket on the cylinder head as shown.
Note. The arrow points to the front of the engine.
Install the exhaust manifold and tighten the fastening nuts in two steps in the sequence shown in the figure.
First approach: 18.0 Nm.
Second approach: 30.0 Nm.
Check after removal
Using a straightedge and a set of flat feeler gauges, check the deformation of the exhaust manifold contact surface. If the value obtained exceeds the norm, replace the exhaust manifold with a new one.
Check after installation
Start the engine and run it at a higher RPM to check for exhaust gas breakthroughs.
