Checking the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and temperature gauge
Remove the corresponding pointer from a combination of devices and measure resistance between the contacts shown in drawing.
Checking the fuel gauge unit
Remove the fuel gauge assembly from the vehicle. Set the meter flange face to a horizontal position. Set the fuel gauge block to position «Full» (full tank), «½» (half a tank), «Empty» (empty tank) and measure the resistance of the pointer at each position.
Note: In brackets - contacts of models with a diesel engine.
Checking the temperature gauge sensor
Warm up the engine to approximately 80°C and measure the resistance between the temperature gauge sensor and «weight».
- Standard resistance: approx. 76-90 Σ
If, when checking on a vehicle, the resistance is significantly different from the norm, remove the temperature gauge sensor from the vehicle and check as shown in the figure.
Checking the Low Oil Pressure Warning Light Switch
Check for continuity between the low oil pressure warning light switch and «weight».
