Lock
1. Disconnect the battery from ground.
2. Remove the inner panels of the lid.
3. Disconnect the drive rod from the lock.
4. Disconnect the trunk light switch connector.
5. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the lock through the opening in the cover.
6. Install the lock in reverse order, making sure the rods are installed correctly.
Cargo compartment lid lock switch
1. Disconnect the battery from ground and remove the inner cover panel.
2. Unscrew the 4 screws securing the cover with the handle from the inside.
3. Loosen the nuts and release the trim latches.
4. Disconnect the sign light connector.
5. Disconnect the rod from the outer handle, remove the cover from the outside of the cover, remove the sign wire seals from the holes in the cover.
6. Disconnect the rod from the lid lock.
7. Unscrew the two nuts (shown by arrows) and get the lock switch from the outside of the cover. Remove the gasket.
8. Install the lock switch in reverse order. Replace the gasket, check the correct connection of the rods, check the operation of the lock.
Lock retainer
1. Disengage the latches and remove the rear cargo area trim.
2. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the retainer.
3. Install the retainer in reverse order.
External cargo compartment handle
1. Disconnect the battery from ground and remove the inner cover panel.
2. Unscrew the 4 screws securing the cover with the handle from the inside.
3. Loosen the nuts and release the trim latches.
4. Unscrew the two screws and remove the handle.
5. Install the handle in the reverse order. Check the correct connection of the rods, check the operation of the lock.
