Attention! On cars with air conditioning, it is prohibited to independently remove the cooling unit mounted between the fan and the heater. The procedure for dismantling the heater requires considerable time, special attention and careful preparation.
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery from ground.
2. Move the heater lever to the HOT position and drain the fluid.
3. Disconnect the heater hoses from the engine compartment side (indicated by arrows).
4. Remove the glove box by unscrewing two screws.
5. Remove the lower and center front panels (see subsection 13.26).
6. Remove the glove box bracket.
7. Remove the heater control unit.
8. Disconnect the air duct on the right side of the heater, disconnect the cables from the control levers.
9. Remove the center air duct.
10. Loosen the bolts and remove the heater from the engine compartment bulkhead.
Installation
Installation is performed in reverse order. Ensure that the wiring and control cables are correctly laid, check that the air ducts are securely fastened, install the removed panels and fill with coolant, removing the air.
