Instructions for working with airbags (Nissan Almera N15)

Do not use an electrical tester to test the security system circuits.

Before working on the system, turn off the ignition, disconnect both cables from the battery and wait at least 10 minutes. During this time, the system maintains sufficient voltage to operate.

For a single airbag system, do not remove the control unit from the steering wheel.

In a dual airbag system, the control unit must always be installed with the arrow mark pointing forward in the direction of travel.

The spiral cable must be aligned with the neutral position because its rotation angle is limited. Do not turn the steering wheel or steering shaft after removing the steering gear.

Handle the airbag modules with care. Always place them with the airbag facing up.

After removing the safety system components, do not use old bolts; replace them with new ones. Check the functioning of the security system using self-diagnostics.
The instrument cluster in a dual airbag system must be replaced after an airbag has deployed.
