Do not use an electrical tester to test security circuits.
Before working on the system, turn off the ignition, disconnect both wires from the battery, and wait at least 10 minutes. During this time, the system maintains a voltage sufficient for its operation.
In a single airbag system, do not remove the control unit from the steering wheel.
In a system with two airbags, the control unit must always be installed so that the arrow mark points forward in the direction of travel.
The coiled cable must be aligned with the neutral position as the angle of rotation is limited. Do not turn the steering wheel or steering shaft after removing the steering gear.
Handle airbag modules with care. Always place them upside down.
After removing the parts of the security system, do not use the old bolts; replace them with new ones. Check the function of the security system using self-diagnosis.
The instrument panel in a system with two airbags must be replaced after the airbag has deployed.
