General information about the suspension (Nissan Terrano 1)

The front suspension of the cars in question is independent, torsion bars are used as elastic elements. The front suspension parts include levers with axles, steering knuckles, rods (stretchers), stabilizer bar and torsion bars (photo). The levers are connected to the knuckle with ball joints. The torsion bar is connected to the suspension arm and to the frame through levers that are attached to the suspension arm and to the frame, respectively. Torsion bar adjustment is provided by lever bolts on the frame side. The front and rear suspension shock absorbers are hydraulic, non-separable, connected to the lower arms (rear axle) and with a frame. Some cars are equipped with adjustable shock absorbers with an electric drive. To balance the suspension, rods (stretchers) are provided that perceive the forces acting on the suspension parts in the longitudinal direction (in the direction of travel and against the direction of travel of the vehicle). The suspension stabilizer limits the body tilt when cornering. The rear suspension is spring-loaded.

When performing repair work, do not expose suspension parts to strong heat or apply great force to them.
