Main gear pinion seal
1. Drain the oil from the gearbox housing.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on stands.
3. Disconnect the cardan shaft from the front gearbox flange.
4. Unscrew the gearbox nut (photo) by screwing the bolts into the flange and pressing with a screwdriver.
8.4 Unscrew the nut and remove the flange and seal

5. Press the gearbox flange (photo).
8.5 Removing the flange from the main gear drive pinion
6. Pry up and carefully remove the seal.
7. Apply universal grease to the seal and press it into the crankcase using a mandrel.
8. Put on the flange, screw in and tighten the gearbox nut to the specified torque.
9. Using a torque wrench with a scale of several N·m, check the torque of resistance to turning the drive gear of the gearbox by turning the nut clockwise. The torque is equal to the preliminary tension in the bearings. If the torque is less than the norm, tighten the nut. If the torque exceeds the norm, the spacer sleeve of the bearings will be damaged, the gearbox should be disassembled and the sleeve replaced.
10. The remaining operations are performed in reverse order.
Left axle shaft seal
11. Remove the axle shaft.
12. Remove the axle shaft flange by prying it off with two screwdrivers (photo).

20. Unscrew 4 bolts and remove the right shaft housing from the gearbox.
21. Install the axle shaft into the housing, screw on the bearing housing and press the shaft out of the bearing (photo).
8.21 Pressing out the shaft
1. The bushing is removed
22. Pry and remove the seal from the bearing housing. Press in the new seal using blows through a block.
23. Remove the bearing housing and place it on the shaft. Place a new bushing. Press the shaft into the housing (it is recommended to perform this at a car service center).
24. The remaining operations are performed in reverse order.
