Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Working under the vehicle, loosen the bolts securing the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold. Disconnect the pipe from the manifold.
3. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold. Note the connection point of the ground bus.
4. Using a pipe wrench, disconnect the EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold.
5. Working in a spiral motion from the outside in, gradually loosen the exhaust manifold fasteners.
6. Remove the mounting bolts, nuts and their washers and remove the exhaust manifold assembly from the engine compartment.
7. Check the mating surfaces of the exhaust manifold for cracks, deformations, and other damage. Perform the necessary repairs or replace the manifold.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
1. Do not forget to thoroughly clean the mating surfaces and replace all gaskets beforehand.
2. Don't forget to install washers under the fasteners. Tighten the fasteners to the required torque, moving in a spiral from the inside out.
3. When installing the heat shield, do not forget to connect the ground bus.
4. Start the engine and check the manifold for signs of exhaust leaks.
