Checking the brake pedal height

Check the height (H1) between the stop (1) and the upper surface of the brake pedal.

Note: Nominal brake pedal height (N): 183.7-193.7 mm.

Please note: The floor covering must be removed before testing.

Checking the position of the brake light switch or brake pedal position sensor

Check the gap (C) between the bracket (1) and the threaded part of the brake light switch or brake pedal position sensor (2).

Note: Nominal clearance (C): 0.74-1.96 mm.

Caution: When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake lights must be off.

Note: Pull the brake pedal to create clearance between the stop and the threaded portion of the brake light switch or brake pedal position sensor.

Checking the brake pedal play

Press the brake pedal and measure the amount of play (A) - the pedal travel before resistance begins.

Note: Brake pedal play (A): 3.0-11.0 mm.

Checking the brake pedal height when fully depressed

Remove the floor covering and measure the distance between the stop (1) and the upper surface of the brake pedal (N ₂) by pressing the pedal with a force of 490 N (50 kgf) with the engine running.

Note: Nominal brake pedal height at full pressure (H ₂): 120.5 mm.
