Removing
Disconnect the cable from the hood lock, release the cable from the clamps on the radiator core support and the side clamps.
Remove the sleeve from the bulkhead with the engine compartment, pull the cable out of the passenger compartment.
Caution: When pulling the opener cable, be careful not to damage the cable sheath on the edge of the hole.
Installation
Pass the cable through the hole while maintaining a bend radius of 100mm or more.
Firmly insert the bushing into the hole in the baffle, making sure that it does not move.
Apply sealant to the bushing and bushing contact areas on the body.
Fasten the cable tightly to the lock.
After installation, check that the hood latch is adjusted correctly and that the hood opener handle works properly.
Examination
Make sure that the secondary latch of the hood lock is securely engaged with the loop of the secondary latch by releasing the hood cover from a height of about 200 mm.
Make sure that when you pull the hood release handle, the front edge of the hood rises approx. by 20 mm. Also make sure the hood release handle returns to its original position.
If the hood latch cable is bent or deformed, replace it.
Make sure there is enough grease on the hood latch. If necessary, apply body lubricant to the locations shown in the illustration.
