1. If during checks (see subsection 2.3.16.2) there is a suspicion of wear on the CV joint, then proceed as follows.
2. Remove the wheel cover.
3. Remove the wheel cap and check the tightness of the axle nut.
4. If there is evidence that the nut is not tightened enough, then remove the cotter pin, lock washer and spacer.
5. Check the tightening with a torque wrench, reinstall the removed parts and cotter with a new cotter pin.
6. Perform these operations on the other wheel.
7. Slowly moving in a circle with the steering wheel fully turned out, check for clicks "metal to metal" from the front of the car.
8. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the other side and listen again.
9. If metallic clicks are heard, then the outer hinge of the axle shaft is worn out.
10. If vibrations are heard that increase during acceleration, then the inner hinge is worn out.
11. To check the wear of the hinge, remove and disassemble the axle shaft and check all play and the condition of the hinges.
12. The hinge only changes as an assembly.
