2. Remove the distributor cap and mark the position of the runner relative to the distributor housing.
3. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.
4. Remove the engine splash guards.
5. Drain the oil from the engine.
6. On 4x4 vehicles, place a stand under the front axle.
7. Loosen the bolts and remove the pump assembly with the shaft.
8. The procedure for disassembling the pump is described below.
9. Make sure that the piston of the 1st cylinder is at TDC of the compression stroke.
10. Fill the pump with oil, align the mark on the pump shaft with the lubrication hole under the drive gear (photo).
11. Install the gasket and pump.
12. Tighten the bolts and check the orientation of the shaft on the pump. If necessary, repeat the installation operation.
