Caution: Before starting work, make sure the drive belt is tensioned correctly.
- Connect the fluid pressure gauge and the pressure gauge adapter (special devices) between the liquid outlet connection on the pump and the high pressure hose. Then bleed the air from the hydraulic system.

- Start the engine and warm it up until the temperature of the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir reaches 50-80°C.
- Warm up the engine with the shut-off valve fully open. If the engine is started with the shut-off valve closed, the fluid pressure in the power steering pump will increase to the maximum value. This will cause the liquid temperature to rise excessively.
Caution: Be careful not to let the gauge and tool hoses come into contact with the drive belts when starting the engine.
- When the engine is idling, close the shut-off valve and determine the fluid pressure, which should be 8000-8800 kPa.
Caution: Do not close the shut-off valve on the pressure gauge for more than 10 seconds.
- After measuring, slowly open the shut-off valve.
- If the pressure value differs from the values specified above, disassemble and repair the pump as described in the relevant section.
- After checking, disconnect the pressure gauge with the adapter, connect the fluid outlet connector and the high pressure hose. Add fluid and bleed air from the hydraulic system.
