2. Check for scoring, chips, gouges and other damage on the split planes of the head and cylinder block. Minor damage can be repaired with a needle file, in case of serious damage, the head or block must be reground.
13.2 Cylinder head of the K24 engine
1. Rocker rollers and valve rockers; 2. Cylinder head; 3. Gasket; 4. Bolt; 5. Camshaft; 6. Saddle; 7. Guide sleeve; 8. Support washer; 9. Oil seal; 10. Crackers; 11. Plate; 12. Inlet
3. Carefully drive the bolt threads into the bolt holes.
4. Put a new lining on the block of cylinders, orienting on pins. Carefully place the head on the cylinder block without disturbing the gasket.
5. Hand-tighten the cylinder head bolts to their original positions.
6. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown (photo), making 1/4 turn at a time. The tightening order is specified in the Technical data.
7. Install the camshaft sprocket.
8. Remaining assembly operations are carried out in reverse order.
9. After completion of work, fill the cooling system with liquid, start the engine, check for leaks. Check idle speed, adjust if necessary.

10. Adjust the valves by setting the gaps for a warm engine.
