2. Remove the air filter.
3. Remove the power steering pump and the pump belt tensioner roller (if provided).
4. Disconnect the wires from the spark plugs and move them to the side along with the brackets.
5. Disconnect the air ejection tube, remove the valve body (if provided).
6. Remove the intake manifold.
7. Remove the thermal vacuum distributor with the bracket from the engine compartment bulkhead.
8. Disconnect the recirculation tube.
9. Remove the fuel pump (mechanical).
10. Remove the exhaust manifold.
11. Remove the cylinder head cover.
12. Set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC of the compression stroke and remove the camshaft sprocket (see above).
13. Loosen the 10 cylinder head bolts, turning each bolt 1/4 turn at a time. Loosen the bolts in the sequence shown (photo). Remove the bolts and store them in the cash register in the order they were tightened.
14. Unscrew the two small bolts securing the front cover.
15. Move the head with light blows through a wooden spacer and remove.
16. Remove the gasket.
