Replacing and adjusting the striker plate of the lock (Nissan Patrol Y60)

1. Mark the position of the striker plate on the door pillar with a marker (the location of the plate is shown in the accompanying illustration).



2. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the striker plate. Check the condition of the parts, replace any defective ones.

Installation is carried out in reverse order.

1. Position the striker plate on the stand according to the mounting marks made during disassembly. Install the set screws and tighten them just enough to hold the plate in place.

2. Close the door, then close it tightly.

3. Lift the outside handle and carefully open the door, being careful not to displace the striker plate.

4. Tighten the screws and close the door again, checking that the lock and striker plate are functioning properly. If further adjustment is necessary, loosen the set screws and move the striker plate in the desired direction until the lock operates smoothly when opening and closing the door.

5. After completing the adjustment, tighten the plate set screws securely.
