Removal
Note: The transmission removal and installation procedures are the same as those discussed above for 4.2 l models taking into account the points listed below.
1. After removing the gear shift lever assembly with the gear shift drive housing, use a special magnet to remove the spring and ball from the extension housing.
2. When removing the clutch slave cylinder, loosen the bolts securing the hydraulic tube bracket to the engine.
Installation
1. When installing the shift housing assembly to the shift lever, lubricate its mating surface with Loctite 587 (or equivalent).
2. Do not forget to install the spring and ball in place. Screw the mounting bolts with 12 mm heads into positions A, 13 mm - into positions B (see accompanying illustration). Tighten all fasteners to the required torque.
