1 - synchronizer blocking rings (late model years); 2 - synchronizer assembly; 3 - retaining ring; 4 - synchronizer blocking rings (early model years); 5 - 3rd gear gear; 6 - bearing; 7 - bearing clutch; 8 - 2nd gear gear; 9 - synchronizer blocking ring; 10 - 1st gear gear; 11 - driven shaft; 12 - reverse gear
1. When doing steps b) and e) the procedure for disassembling the driven shaft, you should remember the installation positions of the assemblies of the blocking rings of the synchronizer 2/3 gears.
2. To check the serviceability of the assemblies of the blocking rings of the synchronizers of the 2nd and 3rd gears, measure the gaps between the outer ring and the cone (see accompanying illustration), - its value should not exceed 0.2 mm and between the inner ring and the cone (see accompanying illustration), - height difference should not exceed 0.2 mm.
3. When assembling the driven shaft components, install the 2nd and 3rd gear synchronizer rings in accordance with the memo made during the dismantling process.
