2. Disconnect the water hoses from the electronic throttle actuator, plug the hose openings with plugs to prevent coolant from leaking.
Attention.
- Perform this step on a cold engine.
- Do not allow coolant to come into contact with imported belts.
3. Remove the oil dipstick.
Caution: Cover the dipstick guide tube opening to prevent foreign material from entering.

4. Remove the electronic throttle control drive.
Attention.
- Be careful when handling the electronic throttle control drive, avoid impacts.
- Do not disassemble or adjust the electronic throttle control actuator.
5. Disconnect the wire connector and the fuel vapor recovery system hose from the fuel vapor recovery system carbon canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
6. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the intake manifold.
7. Remove the front (1) and rear (2) intake manifold supports.

8. Loosen the mounting bolts from the edges to the center and remove the intake manifold from the engine.
9. If necessary, remove the solenoid valve from the intake manifold.
Caution: Be careful when handling the solenoid valve for controlling the purge volume of the charcoal canister of the fuel vapor recovery system, avoid impacts.
10. If necessary, remove the intake manifold center support from the cylinder head.
Note: The intake manifold center support acts as a guide when installing the intake manifold.
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Install the gaskets onto the intake manifold, aligning the tabs (A) of the gaskets with the groove of the intake manifold.

Place the intake manifold in the installation position.
Caution: Make sure that the dipstick guide is not disconnected from the coolant inlet port retaining clip due to catching on the intake manifold.
Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in the figure.

Note: The arrow in the figure indicates the front of the engine.
Install the front and rear intake manifold supports.
Tighten the electronic throttle control actuator bolts evenly in a diagonal sequence in several passes.
Perform the closed throttle position learning procedure ("Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning") after repair work, during which the connector of the wires of the electric throttle actuator was disconnected.
Perform the closed throttle position learning procedure ("Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning") and learning the idle air intake volume ("Idle Air Volume Learning") after repair work to replace the electronic throttle control drive.
