2. Remove the oil dipstick.
Attention. Close the dipstick guide hole to prevent foreign material from entering.
3. Disconnect the forced ventilation hose from the intake manifold and rocker cover.
4. Remove the air duct with the resonator assembly (see relevant section above).
5. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the intake manifold.
6. Disconnect the water hoses from the electric throttle control actuator, plug the holes to prevent coolant from escaping.
Attention.
- Perform this step on a cold engine.
- Do not allow coolant to come into contact with drive belts.
7. Remove the electronic throttle control actuator.
Attention. Be careful not to hit the electronic throttle control actuator.
8. Remove intake manifold (1) in the following way:
Loosen and unscrew the mounting bolts (A) And (IN) intake manifold.
Note. The arrows indicate the front of the engine.
Loosen the mounting bolts from the edges to the middle of the intake manifold.
Attention. Close motor openings to prevent foreign material from entering inside.
9. If necessary, remove the brackets from the intake manifold.
10. If necessary, remove the EVAP purge volume control solenoid valve from the intake manifold.
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Check that the gasket has not fallen out of the intake manifold mounting groove.
Install the intake manifold and tighten the mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the figure.
Note. The arrow in the figure points to the front of the engine.
Tighten bolt (A) intake manifold mounts and then the bolt (IN).
Note. The arrows indicate the front of the engine.
Tighten the electronic throttle control actuator bolts evenly in a diagonal sequence over several passes.
Perform throttle closed position learning procedure ("Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning") after repair work, during which the electric throttle actuator wire connector was disconnected.
Perform throttle closed position learning procedure ("Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning") and learning the amount of air intake at idle ("Idle Air Volume Learning") after repair work on replacing the electronic throttle control actuator.
