Preparation
1. If a tire is punctured, stop the vehicle immediately, taking into account the driving conditions.
2. Place the vehicle on a level, hard surface well away from the traffic lane.
3. If necessary, turn on the hazard warning lights.
4. If there is a warning triangle, install it to warn other drivers.
5. Set the car to the parking brake and engage first or reverse gear (park position in cars with automatic transmission).
6. Block the wheel diagonally opposite the one being replaced.
7. To prevent the jack from sinking into soft soil, place a board underneath it.
Wheel replacement procedure
1. Remove the jack. The jack is mounted on the right side of the trunk, under the hatch.
2. The spare wheel and tool are located in a niche inside the luggage compartment, under the decorative cover. Unscrew the holder, take out the spare wheel, pry up and remove the decorative cover.
3. Loosen the nuts securing the wheel being replaced.
4. Place the jack under the reinforced section of the body sill, rotate the jack handle clockwise until the wheel is raised off the ground. The wheel holder and the crowbar for removing the decorative cap are used as a handle.
5. Loosen the nuts and remove the wheel.
6. Install the spare tire, tighten the nuts and check the tightness of the nuts after lowering the car.
7. Install the decorative cap so that the wheel valve is opposite its cast image on the cap.
After changing the wheel
1. Remove the chocks from under the wheel.
2. Place the jack and tools in the trunk, making sure they are positioned correctly.
3. Check the tire pressure of the installed wheel. If the pressure is low or you do not have a pressure gauge, then drive at low speed to the nearest garage and inflate the tire to normal pressure.
4. Take the damaged wheel (or tire) for repair immediately.
