On cars with a converter, the exhaust system consists of 4 sections - the same 3 sections and the converter section.
The entire length of the exhaust system pipes are suspended on rubber supports, the pipes are connected by flanges.
Removing
Each of the sections can be dismantled independently of the others. You can also remove the entire system at once.
1. Raise the car and put it on stands (or drive into a pit or overpass).
Downpipe
2. Loosen the nuts securing the exhaust pipe to the manifold.
3. Loosen the bolt securing the pipe to the bracket.
4. Disconnect the pipe from the manifold, remove the gasket.
5. Disassemble the flange connection and remove the pipe and gasket.
Converter (on car parts)
6. Remove the two nuts and two bolts securing the pipe to the converter.
7. Remove the two bolts securing the intermediate pipe to the converter.
8. Remove the converter and gaskets.
Intermediate pipe
9. On vehicles with a converter, unscrew the two bolts securing the intermediate pipe and remove the gasket.
10. On cars without a converter, unscrew the two nuts and two mounting bolts, remove the springs and disconnect the intermediate pipe from the front pipe. Remove the gasket.
11. On all vehicles, remove the rubber pad bolt at the rear of the intermediate tube.
12. Turn away bolts of fastening of an intermediate pipe to an end pipe of the muffler.
13. Remove the intermediate pipe and gasket.
Silencer end section
14. Remove the two bolts securing the intermediate tube.
15. Unhook the stretch marks and remove the section.
Whole system
16. Unscrew the nuts securing the intake pipe to the manifold and the bolt to the bracket, disconnect the pipe from the manifold, remove the gasket.
17. Working with an assistant, disconnect the system from the rubber pads and remove from the vehicle.
Heat shields
18. Guards are established on parts of cars and fasten nuts, bolts and brackets.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
2. Before assembly, replace gaskets and clean split surfaces.
3. Check the condition of the pillows, replace if necessary.
4. Make sure there are sufficient clearances between the pipes and the bottom.
