2. Check the powertrain suspension mounts for cracks, hardening, or rubber peeling off the metal base. If at least one of the above damages is detected, replace the mounts.
3. Check the tightening of all threaded connections of the supports; if possible, check the tightening torque with a torque wrench.
4. Check the wear of the bearings. To do this, pry the bearing with a large screwdriver, crowbar or pry bar and rock it, thereby checking the free play. If it is impossible to check this way, then ask an assistant to rock the power unit back and forth and from side to side, and watch the bearings yourself. For new bearings, a slight play is allowed, with excessive play in the bearings, signs of their increased wear are easily detected. If a large play is detected in the bearings, first check the tightening of the bolts and nuts and replace the worn parts, guided by the description below.
Right support
1. Disconnect the battery from ground.
2. Place a support under the engine, placing a wooden block or board between the support platform and the engine. Raise the support so that the platform supports the weight of the power unit.
3. Remove the nut and tension bolt, then remove the mounting bolts and remove the right support from the engine compartment. Remove the rubber cushions that are installed on both sides of the support bracket on the body side.
4. If necessary, unscrew the bolts and remove the right powertrain support bracket from the engine.
5. Carefully check all support parts for signs of wear or damage; replace parts if necessary.
6. When assembling the right support, attach the bracket to the engine by tightening the bolts (if the bracket was removed), then tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
7. Install the rubber cushions on the support bracket from the body side, make sure that the pins of the cushions go into the corresponding holes of the bracket. Install the support on the bracket, tighten the mounting bolts with the specified torque.
8. Insert the support clamp bolt and tighten the bolt nut to the specified torque. Remove the support from under the engine.
9. Connect the battery to ground.
Left support
1. Remove the battery and tray.
2. Place a support under the engine, placing a wooden block or board between the support platform and the engine. Raise the support so that the platform supports the weight of the power unit.
3. Loosen and remove the support clamp bolt, then remove the three bolts securing the support to the transmission housing and move the support to the side. Remove the rubber pads installed on both sides of the bracket. If necessary, remove the bracket bolts from the engine compartment side.
4. Loosen and remove the support clamp bolt, then remove the three bolts securing the support to the transmission housing and move the support to the side. Remove the rubber pads installed on both sides of the bracket. If necessary, remove the bracket bolts from the engine compartment side.
5. Carefully check all support parts for signs of wear or damage; replace parts if necessary.
6. When assembling the left support, secure the bracket by tightening the bolts (if the bracket was removed) and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
7. Install rubber cushions on the bracket, make sure that the cushion pins go into the corresponding holes in the bracket, move the support back, installing it in place. Tighten the support mounting bolts to the transmission housing, tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
8. Insert the support tie bolt and tighten the bolt nut to the specified torque.
9. Remove the stand from under the engine. Install the tray and battery.
Front support - for sedans and hatchbacks (with manual transmission)
1. Set the handbrake, raise the front of the car and place it on stands. Disconnect the battery from the ground. To expand the working space, unscrew the screws and remove the lower engine and transmission mudguards.
2. Mark the position of the front support tie bolt on the bracket so that when assembling, the bolt is installed according to these marks.
3. Place a support under the engine, placing a wooden block or board between the support platform and the engine. Raise the support so that the platform supports the weight of the power unit.
4. Unscrew the nut and remove the support tie bolt.
5. Remove the bolts and bracket from the front of the engine.
6. Carefully check all support parts for signs of wear or damage, replace parts if necessary. If it is necessary to replace the rubber support cushion, press the cushion out of the central side member. Install a new cushion, having previously moistened it with soapy water (or detergent) to facilitate pressing.
7. Install the support bracket on the engine and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
8. Insert the support clamp bolt, tighten the nut slightly. Orient the power unit so that the clamp bolt is precisely aligned with the mark applied before removal, tighten the clamp bolt to the specified torque.
9. Remove the support from under the gearbox housing.
10. Install the shields, tighten the screws securely, lower the vehicle and connect the battery to ground.
Front support - for station wagons with manual transmission
1. Perform operations in pp. 1–4.
2. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the support assembly from the central engine mount side member.
3. If necessary, loosen the bolts and remove the support bracket from the front of the engine.
4. Carefully check all support parts for signs of wear or damage; replace parts if necessary.
5. Install the bracket on the engine (if it was filmed), tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
6. Install the support onto the center spar and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
7. Insert the support pinch bolt and tighten the nut slightly.
8. Align the power unit so that the clamping bolt is precisely aligned with the mark made before removal, tighten the clamping bolt to the specified torque.
9. Remove the support from under the gearbox.
10. Install the shields, tighten the screws securely, lower the vehicle and connect the battery.
Rear support
1. Set the handbrake, lift the front of the car and place it on stands. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Loosen the nut and remove the rear support tie bolt.
3. Loosen the rear support bracket bolts and manipulate the bracket out. Remove the stop ring installed between the bracket and the support.
4. Loosen the two bolts and remove the support assembly from the center side member.
5. Carefully check all support parts for signs of wear or damage; replace parts if necessary.
6. When assembling, install the rear support on the side member and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
7. Install the limit ring in place, then install the rear support bracket and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
8. Align the rear support with the bracket, insert the tie bolt and tighten the bolt nut to the specified torque.
9. Remove the stands, connect the battery to ground.
