2. Check for cracks, hardening, peeling of rubber from the metal base on the suspension mounts of the power unit. At detection at least one and the specified damages of a support replace.
3. Check the tightening of all threaded connections of the supports, if possible, check the tightening torque with a torque wrench.
4. Check bearing wear. To do this, pry the support with a large screwdriver, crowbar or pry bar and shake, thereby checking the free play. If it is not possible to check in this way, then ask the assistant to shake the power unit back and forth and from side to side, and watch the supports yourself. For new supports, a slight play is allowed, with excessive play in the supports, signs of their increased wear are easily detected. If there is a lot of play in the bearings, first check the tightness of the bolts and nuts and replace the worn parts as described below.
Right support
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Install a stand under the engine, having previously laid a wooden block or board between the stand platform and the engine. Raise the stand so that the weight of the power package is supported by the platform.
3. Turn away a nut and a coupling bolt, then turn away bolts of fastening and get the right support from a motor compartment. Remove the rubber pads that are installed on both sides of the support bracket on the body side.
4. If necessary, unscrew the bolts and remove the bracket of the right support of the power unit from the engine.
5. Carefully check for signs of wear or damage on all parts of the support, replace parts if necessary.
6. When assembling the right support, attach the bracket to the engine by tightening the bolts (if the bracket was removed), then tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
7. Install the rubber pads to the body side support bracket, making sure the pad pins fit into the corresponding holes in the bracket. Install the support on the bracket, tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
8. Insert the support pinch bolt and tighten the bolt nut to the specified torque. Remove the stand from under the engine.
9. Connect the battery to ground.
Left support
1. Remove the battery and tray.
2. Install a stand under the engine, having previously laid a wooden block or board between the stand platform and the engine. Raise the stand so that the weight of the power package is supported by the platform.
3. Loosen and remove the mount pinch bolt, then remove the 3 bolts securing the mount to the transmission case and slide the mount out of the way. Remove the rubber pads installed on both sides of the bracket. If necessary turn away bolts of an arm from outside a motor compartment.
4. Loosen and remove the mount pinch bolt, then remove the 3 bolts securing the mount to the transmission case and slide the mount out of the way. Remove the rubber pads installed on both sides of the bracket. If necessary turn away bolts of an arm from outside a motor compartment.
5. Carefully check for signs of wear or damage on all parts of the support, replace parts if necessary.
6. When assembling the left support, secure the bracket by tightening the bolts (if the bracket was removed) and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
7. Install the rubber pads on the bracket, make sure that the pins of the pads go into the corresponding holes in the bracket, move the support back, setting it in place. Wrap bolts of fastening of a support to a case of transmission, tighten bolts with the set moment.
8. Insert the support pinch bolt and tighten the bolt nut to the specified torque.
9. Remove the stand from under the engine. Install the tray and battery.
Front support - for cars sedan and hatchback (with manual transmission)
1. Put the car on the handbrake, raise the front of the car and place it on stands. Disconnect the battery from the ground. To expand the working space, unscrew the screws and remove the lower guards of the engine and transmission mudguards.
2. Mark the position of the front support pinch bolt on the bracket with marks so that the bolt can be set to these marks during assembly.
3. Install a stand under the engine, having previously laid a wooden block or board between the stand platform and the engine. Raise the stand so that the weight of the power package is supported by the platform.
4. Turn away a nut and get a coupling bolt of a support.
5. Turn away bolts and remove an arm from a forward part of the engine.
6. Carefully check for signs of wear or damage on all parts of the support, replace parts if necessary. If it is necessary to replace the rubber support pad, then press the pad out of the central side member. Install a new pillow after wetting it with soapy water (or detergent) to facilitate pressing.
7. Install the support bracket on the engine, tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
8. Insert the support pinch bolt, lightly tighten the nut. Orient the power unit so that the coupling bolt is exactly aligned with the mark made before removal, tighten the coupling bolt to the specified torque.
9. Remove the stand from under the gearbox housing.
10. Install shields, securely tighten screws, lower vehicle and connect battery to ground.
Front support - for station wagons with manual transmission
1. Perform operations in pp. 1–4.
2. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the support assembly from the central side member of the engine mount.
3. If necessary, remove the bolts and remove the support bracket from the front of the engine.
4. Carefully check for signs of wear or damage on all parts of the support, replace parts if necessary.
5. Install bracket to engine (if filmed), tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
6. Install the support on the central side member and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
7. Insert the support pinch bolt and lightly tighten the nut.
8. Align the power unit so that the coupling bolt is exactly aligned with the mark made before removal, tighten the coupling bolt to the specified torque.
9. Remove the stand from under the gearbox.
10. Install shields, tighten screws securely, lower vehicle and reconnect battery.
Rear support
1. Put the car on the handbrake, raise the front of the car and place it on stands. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Turn away a nut and get a coupling bolt of a back support.
3. Turn away bolts of an arm of a back support, and, manipulating, get an arm. Remove the restrictive ring installed between the bracket and the support.
4. Remove the two bolts and remove the support assembly from the center side member.
5. Carefully check for signs of wear or damage on all parts of the support, replace parts if necessary.
6. When assembling, install the rear support on the side member and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
7. Reinstall the restrictor ring, then install the rear support bracket and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
8. Align the rear support with the bracket, insert the tie bolt and tighten the bolt nut to the specified torque.
9. Remove the stands, connect the battery to ground.
