Oil pump parts
1. Camshaft chain drive cover; 2. Oil pump cover; 3. Pump cover screw; 4. Pump cover bolts; 5. Nut for fastening the oil receiver bracket; 6. Bolts of the oil receiver pipe; 7. Oil receiver with coarse filter; 8. O-ring; 9. Leading rotor; 10. Driven rotor; 11. Reducing valve piston; 12. Spring; 13. Sealing washer; 14. Reducing valve plug
Disassembly
The oil pump is integral with the camshaft chain drive cover. Remove the cover (see subsection 3.2.1.6).
Status check
1. Remove the screws and bolt, remove the pump cover from the back of the camshaft chain cover.
2. Unscrew the pressure relief valve plug from the base of the chain drive cover, remove the sealing washer. Remove the pressure reducing valve spring and piston, paying attention to the correct orientation of the piston.
3. Remove the oil pump drive and driven rotors from the chain drive cover.
4. Inspect the rotors, relief valve piston and pump cover for obvious signs of wear or damage on these parts.
5. Install the rotors in the cover and check with feeler gauges the gap between the driven rotor and the pump housing, as well as the gap between the teeth of the driven and main rotors.
6. Also check the gap between the teeth of the driven and main rotors.
7. Check with a gauge laid along the upper plane of the pump housing and with a feeler gauge the axial play of the driven and driving rotors.
8. If appropriate measuring instruments are available, then measure the outside diameter of the driven rotor and the inside diameter of the pump casing. Determine the gap between the driven rotor and the pump housing, which is equal to the difference between the inner diameter of the pump housing and the outer diameter of the driven rotor.
9. If there are signs of damage, and if any measured pump clearances are out of specification, replace the chain drive cover.
10. If there is severe wear on the rotors, also check the condition of the pressure reducing valve. The pressure reducing valve is located inside the oil filter housing, which is screwed into the rear of the cylinder block. Unscrew the valve bolt from the upper part of the oil filter housing, remove the sealing washer, spring and ball. Inspect all parts, check for signs of wear, replace if necessary. When assembling, install a ball with a spring in the body, put a new sealing washer on the valve bolt, tighten the bolt and tighten to the specified torque.
11. Lubricate the oil pump rotors with fresh engine oil and install in the housing. The driven rotor must face outwards.
12. Install the cover, after making sure that the detachable plane is clean. Screw in and tighten the cover bolt and screws to the specified torque.
13. Install the relief valve piston in the same orientation, then install the spring.
14. Put a new sealing washer on the regulator bolt and tighten the valve bolt with washer.
15. Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
Assembly
Assemble and install the chain drive cover (see subsection 3.2.1.6).
