Disassembling the carburetor is not difficult, but the following points must be taken into account:
1. The main carburetor jets are screwed into the body from above, i.e., in order to get to the jets, you must remove the carburetor cover.
2. The carburettor cover can be removed after disconnecting the connecting rod, pump drive rod (spring latch and retaining ring), return spring, thrust pin and bolt loosening.
3. Most jets are located at the top of the carburetor body and can, for example, be cleaned without further disassembly of the carburetor.
4. Mixing tubes can be removed by unscrewing both corrective air jets in the middle of the carburetor holes.
5. To check the accelerator pump, you can remove the pump lever.
6. On the side of the carburetor, unscrew the viewing window frame and remove the glass with gasket. The gasket must always be replaced, otherwise gasoline will leak.
7. To separate the throttle body from the carburetor body, disconnect the connecting rod between the vacuum device and the throttle lever and loosen the three bolts securing the throttle body. Throttle valves must not be removed.
8. Do not disassemble vacuum devices.
9. Remove the float after pushing out its shaft and unscrew the float needle valve.
10. Thoroughly clean all parts and blow with compressed air. Do not use a needle or other sharp object to clean the jets. Gaskets should always be replaced, even if the removed gaskets still look satisfactory. To test the accelerator pump, fill the float chamber with fuel and operate the pump. Check that a uniform jet of fuel comes out of the spray nozzle. The carburetor is assembled in the reverse order. All adjustments described in the next chapter, which must be made on a removed carburetor, should be made during assembly.
