Repair accessories
- Conductive silver paint (Dupont No 4817 or equivalent)
- Ruler 30 cm long
- Drawing pen
- Fan heater
- Alcohol
- Rag
Procedure for carrying out repairs
1. Clean the broken heater wire and the surrounding area with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
2. Dip the tip of a drawing pen into conductive silver paint.
Shake the container of silver paint before applying.
3. Place a ruler on the glass along the break. Apply conductive silver paint to the break using a drawing pen. Lightly overlap the existing heater wire on both sides of the break (by 5 mm).
4. After completing the repair, check the conductivity of the wire. The test should be carried out 10 minutes after applying the silver paint (see fig.)
Caution: Do not touch the repaired area during the inspection.
5. Blow a continuous stream of hot air from a fan heater onto the repaired area for approximately 20 minutes. The distance between the repaired area and the fan heater nozzle should be at least 3 cm. If there is no fan heater, allow the repaired area to dry for 24 hours.
