Checking the fluid level
The fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir should be between the MAX and MIN marks. If the fluid level drops significantly, check the brake system for leaks.
If the brake system indicator comes on, check the fluid level sensor and the switch associated with the parking brake lever.
Checking the hydraulic system
1. Check brake pipes and hoses for cracks, dents and other damage. Replace any defective parts.
2. Check for fluid leaks when the brake pedal is fully depressed with the engine running.
Replacing brake fluid
1. Clean the inside of the master cylinder reservoir and fill it with new brake fluid.
2. Place clear vinyl tubes over each bleeder valve and lower them into a container of clean brake fluid.
3. Drain the old brake fluid through all valves by pressing the brake pedal.
4. Add new fluid to the reservoir until it starts coming out of each valve.
