Removal
1. Remove the lower engine splash guard and hood.
2. Drain the coolant from the radiator and cylinder block.
3. Drain the oil from the engine.
4. Disconnect vacuum hoses, fuel lines, wires, connectors, etc.
5. Disconnect the exhaust pipe, disconnect the steering rod ends from the steering knuckles, remove the drive shafts.
6. Remove the radiator and fans.
7. Remove the drive belts.
8. Remove the generator, air conditioning compressor and power steering pump from the engine.
9. Place a transmission jack under the gearbox. Raise the engine with a hoist.
10. Remove the center beam.
11. Loosen the bolts securing the front and rear engine mounts and slowly lower the engine using the jack.
Installation
1. Install the engine mounts. Make sure the rubber bushings are properly positioned on the mounts.
2. Carefully lower the engine onto the supports.

When installing an engine with a manual transmission, adjust the buffer height as shown in the figure.
