Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Using quick-drying paint, mark the position of the flexible coupling in relation to the steering shaft and steering gear.
3. Loosen the flexible coupling tie bolts (see accompanying illustration).

4. Open the slots of the coupling using a wide-blade screwdriver.
5. Slide the flexible coupling towards the steering wheel and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Before installation, check the condition of the rubber element and the splines of the flexible coupling. Replace if necessary.

2. Align the mounting marks made during dismantling, then tighten the tie bolts with a force of 39÷49 Nm.
