Attention. Before installing, apply fresh engine oil to the parts marked in the illustration.
Removing
1. Remove the following parts:
- Battery ground cable.
- Protective pallet of the engine.
- Right front wheel.
- Right headlight.
2. Remove the right side mudguard.
3. Remove the engine cover.
4. Remove intake duct and electronic throttle.
5. Remove the vacuum pump.
6. Remove the air intake pipe.
7. Remove the attachment drive belt.
8. Remove rocker cover.
9. Support the engine from below with a hand-lift truck or equivalent.
Attention. Place a block of wood or something similar as a support surface in order to ensure a fully fixed position.
10. Remove the timing belt.
11. Remove the camshaft covers.
12. Remove the camshaft.
13. Remove the valve lifters.
Installation
1. Install the valve lifters.
2. Install the camshaft.
3. Install the camshaft covers and tighten the bolts to 11 Nm in the sequence shown, as shown in the figure.
4. Screw in the threaded rod of the special tool [KV113B0230 (Mot.1632)] at the end of the camshaft.
5. Install the old oil seal on the camshaft.
6. For a new oil seal, place the mandrel with the oil seal on the camshaft, being careful not to touch the oil seal.
7. Install cover (E) and shoulder nut (F) tool for pressing the camshaft oil seal [KV113B0230 (Mot.1632)].
8. Screw in the shoulder nut so that the cover touches the cylinder head.
9. Install the vacuum pump.
10. Install the camshaft sprocket with lock (Mot. 1606-A) (A).
11. Install the timing belt.
12. Subsequent installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
