Fuel filter (modifications with diesel engine K9K) (Nissan Qashqai J10)

Replacing the fuel filter

1. Remove the inflation bulb from the bracket.

2. Remove the fuel filter from the bracket.

3. Disconnect the quick-release connectors.

Caution: Place a rag under the drain valve to prevent water and fuel from getting on the ABS actuator. Be especially careful to avoid any damage.

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note: After installation, place the priming bulb in a vertical position to remove air from the fuel system.

Caution: Do not bend or twist the fuel lines during removal and installation.

Draining water

Open the drain valve (1) at the bottom of the fuel filter.

Caution: Place a rag under the drain valve to prevent water and fuel from getting into the ABS actuator.

Removal air from the fuel system

1. Bleed the fuel system circuit using the priming bulb (1).



2. Turn the engine crankshaft several times with the starter until the engine starts.

3. If the engine does not start, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the button on the fuel return line and start turning the engine crankshaft again with the starter.

4. After completing the bleeding, press the button and check for leaks.

Checks after replacing the fuel filter

Check the fuel filter for leaks, damage and other defects.
