Examination
1. Place the selector lever in the "P" position and turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
2. Make sure that the selector lever can be switched from the "P" position to all other positions with the brake pedal depressed. Also check that the selector lever moves from the "P" position only with the brake pedal depressed.
3. When moving the selector lever, make sure there is no excessive resistance, jamming, noise or crackling.
4. Make sure that the selector lever noticeably lingers in each position as it moves through all positions. Check the display of the current selector lever position on the indicator plate and the corresponding position of the shift lever on the gearbox housing.
5. The correct method of moving the selector lever to each of the individual positions must correspond to that shown in the figure.
black arrow: to move, press the selector lever button while the brake pedal is depressed.
grey arrow: the selector lever button is not pressed to move.
white arrow: the selector lever can be moved without pressing the button.
6. Press the selector lever button in the "P", "R" or "N" positions without applying force to move the selector lever forward/backward, make sure that the buttons function without jamming.
7. Make sure that the reversing lights come on only when the selector lever is moved to the "R" position. Make sure that the reversing lights go out when the selector lever is moved from the "R" position to the "P" or "N" positions.
8. Make sure that the engine can only be started when the selector lever is in the "P" or "N" position.
9. Make sure that the automatic transmission is completely locked in the "P" position.
10. If the selector lever is moved to the manual gear shift slot, make sure that this mode is displayed on the instrument cluster. Move the selector lever to the "+" side and make sure that the gears shift.
Adjustment
1. Place the selector lever in position "P".
Attention: After turning the wheel at least ¼ of a turn, activate the parking lock.
2. Loosen the nut indicated by the arrow in the figure.

3. Place the gearshift lever in position "P".
4. Tighten the nut.
Caution: Lock the shift lever when tightening the nut.
