Checking the control lamp
Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
The glow plug indicator lamp should come on for a period of time depending on the coolant temperature.

Checking the preheating time
Check the voltage at terminal No.111 of the ECCS unit after turning the ignition key to the ON position.
- On a cold engine (at a coolant temperature below 75°C): 0.15V after turning the ignition key to the ON position for approx. 20 sec., then battery voltage
- On a warm engine (at a coolant temperature above 75°C): battery voltage
Check after turning the ignition key to the START position
Check the voltage at pin No.111 of the ECCS unit after turning the ignition key to the START position.
- On a cold engine (at a coolant temperature below 75°C): 0.15V
- With the engine warmed up (at a coolant temperature below 75°C): battery voltage
Check after preheating
Check the voltage at terminal No.111 of the ECCS unit after starting the engine.
