Examination
Check the resistance between contacts 1 and 2 of the solenoid.
- Resistance: approx. 32 Σ (at 20°C)
Apply battery voltage to solenoid terminals 1 and 2 and use a hand vacuum pump to check for continuity between the corresponding ports.
- No voltage applied: there is conductivity between ports A and B
- Voltage is supplied: there is conductivity between ports B and C
Removal
1. Remove the intercooler cover, intercooler and engine cover.
2. Disconnect the connector and remove the vacuum hose.
3. Remove the swirl control solenoid.
