Examination
Check the resistance between pins 1 and 2 of the solenoid.
- Resistance (at 20°C): Approx. 12 Σ
Removing
1. Remove the left engine protection from the bottom.
2. Disconnect a socket and remove a vacuum hose.
3. Remove control valve. VNT with vacuum tank and bracket.
4. Remove control valve. VNT from bracket.
VNT Control Valve Actuator
Examination
Using a vacuum pump, create a vacuum of -67 kPa (-500 mmHg) and from this state gradually reduce the vacuum to 0 mm Hg. At the same time, observe the movement of the actuator stem.
- Start of stem movement: approx. -53 kPa (-400 mmHg)
- End of stem movement: approx. -23 kPa (-170 mmHg)
In the event of a malfunction, replace the turbocharger assembly.
