The brake pressure control valve is installed either in the wheel brake cylinders (with drum brakes), or two valves are installed on the lower part of the body and are connected by a spring and a rod to a lever on the rear suspension. Valves perform two functions:
They distribute the brake fluid diagonally between the front and rear wheels.
They reduce the brake pressure on the rear wheels under heavy braking according to the load. Removing and installing the valve is a simple operation, however, loosening the stem mounting bolt on the lever requires re-adjustment. To solve this problem, the position of the valve mounting should be marked. The mount has a longitudinal hole. Keep track of which channel individual pipelines are connected to. After installation, the adjustment should be checked in a workshop.
After installing the valve, the brake system must be bled.
The valve is not disassembled and in case of breakage it is replaced with a new one.
You can check the valve operation by driving on a dry street at a speed of 50 km / h and making emergency braking (make sure there are no vehicles in front and behind). The valve works correctly if the front and rear wheels are locked at the same time, or the front wheels are locked before the rear. The valve does not work if the rear wheels brake before the front ones.
