Removing
Attention: 4WD models: since the transfer case is connected, remove the transmission assembly from the vehicle and replace the oil seal on the right side.
1. Disconnect the drive shafts from the transmission side.
2. Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver.
Attention: Do not damage the mounting surface when removing the oil seal.
Installation
1. With a punch (special tool) hammer the stuffing box without distortions so that its protrusion from the end of the crankcase is dimensions A and B.
Size A:
- RE4F04A (V) (2WD, 4WD): Level difference from crankcase end should be less than 0±0.5mm
- RE0F06A (2WD): From the end of the crankcase: 5.5-6.5 mm
- RE0F06A (4WD): Level difference from crankcase end should be less than 0±0.5mm
Size B:
- RE4F04A (V) (2WD, 4WD): Level difference from crankcase end should be less than 0±0.5mm
- RE0F06A (V) (2WD, 4WD): Level difference from crankcase end should be less than 0±0.5mm

RE4F04V (2WD):

Attention:
Before installing the oil seal, apply Nissan Matic Fluid D oil to its surface (RE4F04A (V)) or NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-1 (RE0F06A (V)).
Once removed, do not reuse the seal.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal. After completing the work, check the oil level in the gearbox.
