Examination
1. Move the selector lever and make sure there is no heavy movement, sticking, extraneous sounds, excessive free play, etc.
2. Move the selector lever through all ranges and check that the lever locks into each range and that the current range is correctly displayed on the instrument panel indicator.
3. The method of moving the selector lever is shown in the figures.

4. In position R, the reversing lights should come on and the warning buzzer should sound.
5. Starting the engine is only possible from positions P or N, starting the engine from other positions is blocked.
6. In position P, the gearbox is completely blocked.
Adjustment
1. Loosen the jam nut connecting the control cable to the range lever. Check the smooth running of the cable.

2. Set the selector lever in the passenger compartment and the range switching lever to position P.
Caution: Turn the wheels more than ¼ turn and apply the parking brake.
3. Pull the control cable 2-3 times with a force of 9.8N (1 kg). Release the cable and tighten the locknut by hand, releasing the cable.
4. Tighten the locknut to 13-16 Nm (1.3-1.7 kgm).
Caution: While tightening the jam nut, keep the range lever in a stationary position.
