Caution: If the hood release cable is bent or deformed, replace it.
1. Ensure that the secondary bonnet latch engages securely with the secondary latch hinge when releasing the bonnet from a height of approximately 200mm.
2. Pull the bonnet release lever slightly to ensure that the front edge of the bonnet has risen approximately 20mm. Also ensure that the bonnet release returns to its original position.
3. Make sure there is enough grease on the hood latch. If necessary, apply grease to the points shown in the figure.
