Attention! Proceed with the procedure only after the final cooling of the power unit.
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Support the rear wheels of the vehicle with wheel chocks, apply the parking brake.
3. Jack up the front of the car and place it on jack stands. Remove the crankcase protection.
4. Before removing the rear manifold, remove the upper section of the intake manifold (see Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
5. Remove the heat shield from the manifold.
6. Hang the power unit from above using a beam or winch.
7. Working under the vehicle, disconnect the electrical harness from the oxygen sensor and remove the exhaust pipe from the vehicle.
8. Remove the through bolts of the front and rear suspension mounts of the power unit and remove the cross beam assembly with the support brackets from the vehicle (see Section Checking the condition and replacing the suspension bearings of the power unit).
9. Remove the powertrain mount brackets from both sides of the engine.
10. Disconnect the EGR pipe from the rear exhaust manifold.
11. Give fixing bolts/nuts and remove a collector with sealing linings.
Installation
1. Scrape off carbon deposits and traces of the old gasket material from the mating surfaces of the manifolds and cylinder heads.
2. Put new gaskets on the manifold mounting studs.
3. Install the collector and tighten the nuts of its fastening.
4. Working from the center outwards, tighten the fastener evenly to the required torque in three or four steps.
5. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of their dismantling.
6. Start the engine and check it for signs of exhaust gas leaks.
