7. Unpin the adjusting nut cap (photo).
8. Unscrew the nut and remove the washer.
9. Pull the hub towards you and push it back, remove the outer bearing.
10. Remove the hub from the steering knuckle.
11. Use a screwdriver to pry up and remove the seal (photo). Note the orientation of the seal in the hub.
12. Remove the inner bearing.
13. Wash the bearings and hub from grease, clean the journal.
14. Check the condition of the rollers and outer bearing races in the hubs. If there is damage to the outer races, they must be pressed out (performed at a service station) and replace the bearings.
15. Fill the bearings with high-melting grease, carefully filling the space in the roller cage (photo).
16. Lubricate the bearing seats on the journal and the bore for the oil seal.
39.11 Removing the hub seal
17. Place grease behind the bearing races, coating the edges of the races and creating a bead to retain the grease inside the bearings.
18. Insert the lubricated inner bearing and apply grease to its outer part.
19. Press in the new seal.
20. Install the hub and put on the outer bearing.
21. Put on the washer and tighten the nut to a torque of 3 Nm.
22. Turn the hub in both directions.
23. Check the tightening torque and turn the hub again in both directions. Check the torque, which should remain equal to 3 Nm.
24. Tighten the nut by 45°.
25. Put on the crown cap and secure with a cotter pin. If necessary, turn the nut clockwise until the cotter pin passes through the grooves of the cap and into the hole in the journal.
26. Bend the cotter pin so that it does not touch the hub cap.

27. Press on the hub cap, making sure to keep the sealing ring intact.
28. Put the wheel on, tighten the nuts and swing it to check the play in the bearings. Lower the car.
