Attention.
- Use only a vacuum cleaner to clean the brake caliper and brake pads. Do not use compressed air.
- Do not depress the brake pedal when the brake pads are removed as this may cause the brake fluid to leak out.
- Avoid getting brake fluid on the brake disc.
Removing
1. Remove the wheel from the car.
2. Loosen the lower guide pin bolt.
3. Hang the cylinder body with a wire to relieve the load on the brake hose, then remove the pads, pad holder and gaskets from the caliper bracket.
Attention.
- Do not deform brake shoe holders when removing.
- Do not damage the piston boot.
- Do not drop brake pads, gaskets and gasket covers.
Check after removal
Replace gaskets and gasket covers with new ones if they are too rusty.
Installation
1. Install the brake shoe holders on the caliper bracket, if removed.
Attention.
- Install the pad holders securely, making sure that they do not protrude from the caliper bracket.
- Do not deform brake shoe holders.
2. Apply copper-based grease to the contact surfaces between the brake pads, gaskets and cylinder body lugs, then install the brake pads.
Attention. Always replace the gaskets together with the caps with new ones when replacing the brake pads.
3. Install the cylinder body and brake pads on the caliper bracket.
Attention.
- Do not damage the piston boot.
- When replacing the brake pads, it is necessary to check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank, since the brake fluid returns to the master brake cylinder when the piston of the working cylinder is pressed inward.
Note. To facilitate the compression of the piston of the working brake cylinder, a special tool is used.
4. Install the lower guide pin bolt and tighten to the specified torque.
5. Press the brake pedal several times to make sure that the rear brakes are not jammed.
6. Install the wheel on the car.
Adjustments after installation
Lapping procedure for brakes
The running in of new brake surfaces is carried out according to the procedure described below after grinding or replacing the brake disc, pads, or in the event of a brake pedal failure at a short distance.
Attention.
- Care must be taken to monitor the speed of the vehicle as unworn brake pads will not provide the required braking performance.
- Perform this procedure only on safe roads with low traffic. Exercise extreme caution.
1. Drive the car onto a straight, level road.
2. After accelerating the car a little, press the brake p-distance with force for ti-x-five seconds until the car comes to a complete stop.
3. Drive for a few minutes without depressing the brake pedal to allow the brakes to cool.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 until the brake disc is completely gone.
