Preparatory work
Disconnect all airbag module and seat belt pretensioner connectors.
Remove the pillar trim.
Remove the front floor level air duct.
Note: To unscrew the special bolts, use a socket wrench with a pin (special tool).
Attention:
Before proceeding with removal, turn the ignition key to the OFF position, disconnect both cables from the battery and wait at least 3 minutes.
When performing removal and installation work, do not use pneumatic or electric tools.
Do not reuse special bolts.
After installation, check that the system is working properly by observing the airbag indicator light and the driver's seat belt indicator light.
If the air bag indicator lamp indicates a malfunction, use the self-diagnosis function or the CONSULT tester to erase the memory.
If the airbag warning light or the driver's seat belt warning light still indicates a malfunction, perform a system diagnostic. Repair the faulty components.
If deployed, replace the air bag module and seat belt pretensioner.
