Removal
Attention:
- Before servicing the SRS system, turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position, disconnect both battery cables, and wait at least 3 minutes.
- Do not use pneumatic or power tools when servicing.
1. Remove the seat belt.
2. Disconnect the connector from the side airbag sensor.
3. Unscrew the mounting nuts and remove the sensor.

Fastening nut: Tightening torque: 10.8 N·m (1.1 kg·m)
Attention:
- Inspect the side airbag sensor and make sure it is not deformed, nicked, cracked or rusted. If there is visible damage, replace it with a new one.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the sensor. If it has been dropped or hit, replace it.
- Do not use old nuts, replace them with new ones.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Attention:
- Check if the side airbag sensor is installed correctly.
- Do not use pneumatic or power tools when servicing.
- After replacing the sensor, perform self-diagnosis and make sure that no faults are found.
