Removing
Attention:
- Before servicing the SRS system, turn the ignition key to the «OFF», disconnect both cables from the battery and wait at least 3 minutes.
- When servicing, do not use air or power tools.
1. Remove the driver's airbag module.
2. Place steering wheel in neutral position.
3. Disconnect the connector from the horn switch.
4. Remove the steering wheel. See chapter Steering.
5. Remove the cover from the steering column. See chapter Body.
6. Remove the switch of cleaners/washers and the switch of light of headlights and indexes of turn.
7. Loosen the screws Press on the top plastic latch and remove the coiled wire.
Attention:
- Do not attempt to disassemble the coiled wire.
- Do not apply grease to the coiled wire.
8. Disconnect the connector from the horn switch, then disconnect the connector from the coiled wire.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Attention:
- When servicing, do not use air or power tools.
- If the coiled wire is installed incorrectly, it may break when the steering wheel is turned.
- When the steering gear is disconnected, the wire can also break when turning the steering wheel beyond the limited RPM. The spiral wire can be rotated from the rightmost position counterclockwise by 2.5 turns.
- After completing the work, carry out self-diagnosis and make sure that no faults are found.
