Removing
Attention:
- Before servicing the SRS system, turn the ignition key to the «OFF», disconnect both cables from the battery and wait at least 3 minutes.
- Carry out work from the side of the front passenger airbag module.
- When servicing, do not use air or power tools.
1. Remove the glove box assembly. See chapter Body.
2. Turn off a fixing bolt of the module of an airbag.
Mounting bolt: Tightening torque: 24.5 Nm (2.5 kg m)
3. Disconnect the connector from the front passenger airbag module.
4. Remove the upper section of the instrument panel on the passenger side. See chapter Body.
5. Turn off fixing screws of the module of an airbag.
6. Remove the airbag module from the upper section of the instrument panel on the passenger side.
Note: Press and remove the front and rear airbag module latches.
Attention:
- Lay the front passenger airbag module with the warning label up.
- Do not insert foreign objects (screwdrivers, etc.) to the front passenger airbag module.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the front passenger airbag module.
- After unscrewing, do not use the old bolts, replace them with new ones.
- If the front passenger airbag module has been dropped or hit, replace it.
- Do not expose the front passenger airbag module to temperatures above 90°C.
- Do not allow oil, grease, or water to come into contact with the front passenger airbag module.
- After the front passenger airbag module is deployed, the instrument panel assembly must be replaced.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Attention:
- Carry out work from the side of the front passenger airbag module or under it.
- When servicing, do not use air or power tools.
- After completing the work, carry out self-diagnosis and make sure that no faults are found.
