Removal
1. Remove the front exhaust pipe, propeller shaft and right drive shaft.
2. Remove the axle shaft.
3. Disconnect the speedometer and ground connectors and wiring.
4. Remove the breather hose.
5. Remove the intake manifold supports (SR20DE).
6. Unscrew the transfer case corner mount mounting bolts from the cylinder block side.
7. Support the gearbox with a jack.
8. Remove the center beam, see chapter Mechanical part of the engine.
9. Support the transfer case with a jack.
10. Unscrew the bolts securing the transfer case and gearbox.
11. Remove the transfer case from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
When installing the transfer case to the transmission, install the bolts in the following order:

Attention:
- When installing the transfer case onto the gearbox, be careful not to damage the seals.
- When installing the transfer case corner mount, tighten the mounting bolts to the required torque.
: 31-40 Nm (3.1-4.1 kg·m)
After installation, check the oil level and make sure there are no leaks.
Install the seal guard, see below.
