Brake control system [ESP/TCS/ABS] — actuator and ABS control unit — removal and installation (Nissan Note E11)

Removal

1. Disconnect the connector from the actuator and the ABS control unit.

2. Loosen the brake pipe union nuts, then disconnect the brake pipes from the actuator and the ABS control unit.

3. Unscrew the fastening nuts of the actuator and the ABS control unit.

4. Remove the actuator and ABS control unit from the vehicle.

Attention:

• When removing the actuator and ABS control unit, pay attention to the following:
• If the unit's catalog number is on the label (glued on top of the actuator) the same actuator and ABS control unit cannot be installed on another vehicle.
• If you install it on another car, the "ABS" indicator light, "ESPC OFF" and "SLIP" indicators may light up, or the ESP/TCS/ABS control units may malfunction.
• If the actuator and ABS control unit are replaced, install new components.
• Disconnect battery cables before servicing.
• To avoid damaging the union nuts and brake pipe, unscrew them with a spanner. When installing, tighten them to the required torque using a torque spanner (suitable tool).
• Do not strike the actuator or ABS control unit, e.g. do not drop it.
• Do not touch the electrical wiring when removing and installing the actuator.

Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Attention:

• When installing the actuator and ABS control unit, pay attention to the following:
• Tighten the mounting bolts and nuts to the specified torque.
• After completing the work, release air from the brake pipes.
• After connecting the electrical connector to the actuator, make sure that the connector is securely fixed.
