1. The surface of the cylinder head should always be checked for deformation. If the cylinder head gasket burns out, it may be that the surface is deformed.
2. For control, place a steel ruler on the surface and use a flat feeler gauge to measure the deformation in the directions indicated in the illustration below.
3. If it is possible to insert a probe with a thickness of more than 0.10 mm, the head should be given for grinding.
4. The cylinder head can be ground up to 0.2mm, but in this case the cylinder block cannot be ground. Otherwise, the block and cylinder head can be ground a total of no more than 0.2 mm. After grinding, measure the height of the cylinder head. To do this, use a large caliper that reaches both surfaces. The cylinder head can be used as long as it has the correct height. After grinding the head, it is possible that the camshaft will stick. In this case, the cylinder head must be replaced.
Check the surface of the cylinder head for deformation. Take measurements in specified directions (total 6).
